Each Member received a personal invitation from the Board in class on Friday, 4/25, with all of the information. A certificate will be given to each individual girl with your very own name on it!

The 53 member 2007-2008 Charger Girls of Agoura High School, just returned from the USA “Camp of Champions” held at UC Irvine. The four-day camp, which includes intense skill workshops for cheerleaders and songleaders, is open only to teams who have been a finalist in a national competition. The team, coached by Eileen McGrew, took home the highest honor awarded at the camp, the Team “Unity” award. Not only does this award require the ranking of “Superior” for each of the skill categories as voted on by the staff, but also reflects the choice of the other 600 campers.Coach McGrew was recently honored as “AHS Coach of the Year” by her fellow coaches at Agoura High School. Under McGrew’s direction, the Agoura High School Spirit teams have been USA National Crowdleading Champions six times in 17 years. The team also earned the first ever “CIF Cheerleading Championships”. The most recent victory was this last March at the USA National Crowdleading Championships in Anaheim.

Dear Parents and Spirit Team Members:

The end of year DVD is officially in production.

What can you do to help?

Send us photos. We will be using photographs of all of our Spirit Team members: freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors from all of the teams. The more photos we have, the better the DVD will be. Here's a breakdown of what we need:

We desperately need photos of our Freshman, Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors who are not on VBT. Please send photos from Frosh/Soph and JV football and basketball; Varsity Basketball & Varsity Football photos will also be accepted if available.
Football games, basketball games and any other sporting event that your member attended and/or cheered at. Closeups of small groups are especially welcomed.
Teambuilders, summer camp, the potluck dinner last summer, carwash photos, Santa Comes to Hollywood, etc.
Video of performances at games and competitions,
Photos from all competitions (including Crowdleading), such as USA Universal, USA at Agoura High School, USA Kodak Theatre, UCA Florida, and any other great competition photos you may have.
if you have a copy of the UCA competition, Final round in Florida, please deliver it to Lisa Karlan (via Taryn in 5th period).

The DVD will be produced by our DVD committee: Cheryl Elliott, Susan Goldman and Lisa Karlan. If you have photographs involving Football, Basketball, any VBT, Seniors or Summer Camp, please put them on a DVD and deliver it to Taryn in Class. If your photos contain the Potluck (at Cheryl Cappon's place last summer), Santa Clause Comes to Agoura, the carwash, or just any other terrific but non-specific photo, please put them on a DVD and deliver it to Ali in class. You may also bring your DVD's (the ones for Ali) to Susan's house at 5621 Middle Crest Dr, Agoura.

You are special!! Every year we include a dedicated Senior section in the DVD. If you are a senior, you do NOT want to be left out! Please send Lisa Karlan:

Remember, this is YOUR DVD and you don't want to be left out of it! Photos should be submitted either in DVD form or on a flashdrive. For those of you who have already delivered photos, thank you. No need to resubmit them.

GYMNASTICS:

Gymnastics - on going - very important to get your skills! It is up to each Charger Cheer Girl to be accountable for their advancement.

JV/Frosh Soph at Victory gym - Thursdays at 4:00-5:30pm

Varsity/VBT at Victory - Thursdays at 5:30-7:00pm.

Songleaders are to take non-mandatory dance classes on their own. It is up to the individual Songleader to be accountable for their advancement.

*All Teams - Mrs. McGrew, Mrs. Koch, Agoura High School and the Las Virgenes School District are not responsible for your transportation, class, or payment, if you choose to attend.

*All Members must be transported to and from gymnastics/dance by adult carpool arranged through your Team.

Home and away games

Don't forget your Spirit Team blue sweats!

"WHAT TO BRING": Bring toiletries/plenty of water/sunscreen/snacks...etc... in your blue Spirit Team Bag. Leave jewelry at home...cut nails and leave polish OFF! (Also see the 'Uniform Protocol' section at the bottom of this webpage)

...You will be dismissed on your return at AHS ...AT THE GIRLS LOCKER ROOM! Roll will be taken before dismissal. Please have your Parents pick you up no later than 10 minutes upon your return to AHS!

Away Games

Upon return - ALL TEAMS will bring all props/boxes/signs etc. to the Girls Locker Room.

You will call home from the bus about 10 minutes before our arrival back to AHS.

Dismissal will be at the locker room.

Please have your parent(s) pick you promptly....no later than 10 minutes after your return.

For Away Games: Charger Girls are transported as a Team by school bus ONLY. If a Parent/Representative is in need of picking their child, Mrs. Koch MUST have a Transportation Waiver (found outside the AAC) signed by Mr. Naranjo or another Administrator. Additionally Mrs Koch must see the Parent/Representative before their child will be released to them.

Uniform: skirt, body liner, vest, white sports bra, (no bra straps showing) white athletic shoes, blue briefs.

Always bring Charger Girl bag containing: sweat pants, jacket, and poms (if you're a Songleaders.) Please do not tie your jacket around your waist nor wear your skirt outside your sweat pants.
Hair: wear blue ribbon and style as directed by your captains. Additional ribbons will cost $1.00.
No nail polish ($1 for remover) and all Cheer must have short nails!

If you sit out during a class time, you MUST have a doctors or health office note.
For any problems, please use a "Concern Form" (which can be downloaded from the "home page") for any issue you may have.
