THE NATIONAL CHAMPION AGOURA HIGH SCHOOL SPIRIT TEAM The Friday Football Focus "Athlete of the Week" on keyt.com ATHLETE OF THE WEEKCHARGER GIRLS The 53 member 2007-2008 Charger Girls of Agoura High School, just returned from the USA “Camp of Champions” held at UC Irvine. The four-day camp, which includes intense skill workshops for cheerleaders and songleaders, is open only to teams who have been a finalist in a national competition. The team, coached by Eileen McGrew, took home the highest honor awarded at the camp, the Team “Unity” award. Not only does this award require the ranking of “Superior” for each of the skill categories as voted on by the staff, but also reflects the choice of the other 600 campers.Coach McGrew was recently honored as “AHS Coach of the Year” by her fellow coaches at Agoura High School. Under McGrew’s direction, the Agoura High School Spirit teams have been USA National Crowdleading Champions six times in 17 years. The team also earned the first ever “CIF Cheerleading Championships”. The most recent victory was this last March at the USA National Crowdleading Championships in Anaheim.
